This policy aims to prevent any involvement or association with anti-social forces, including organized crime groups such as the yakuza, to protect the Company's reputation, integrity, and legal compliance.
2. Definition of Anti-Social Forces
Anti-social forces refer to organized crime groups, such as the yakuza, and individuals associated with such groups, who engage in illegal or unethical activities that threaten public order and safety.
3. Prohibition of Dealings with Anti-Social Forces
The Company strictly prohibits any direct or indirect involvement, cooperation, or association with anti-social forces. This includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:
Providing financial support, favors, or benefits to anti-social forces.
Entering into transactions, contracts, or agreements with individuals or organizations known to be associated with antisocial forces.
Using intimidation, threats, or extortion to gain advantages in business dealings.
Accepting requests or demands from anti-social forces that may compromise the Company's integrity or legal compliance.
4. Compliance with Laws and Regulations
The Company is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations, including Japan's Anti-Organized Crime Law (Boryokudan Ho) and related ordinances. Employees are expected to familiarise themselves with these laws and conduct their duties in accordance with legal requirements.
5. Reporting and Response Mechanism
Employees are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or requests from individuals or organisations suspected of being anti-social forces to their immediate supervisor or the designated compliance officer. The Company will promptly investigate any reported incidents and take appropriate actions, including legal measures if necessary, to address the situation.
6. Confidentiality and Protection
The Company will ensure the confidentiality and protection of employees who report incidents or cooperate with investigations related to anti-social forces. Retaliation against whistleblowers will not be tolerated, and appropriate measures will be taken to safeguard their rights and well-being.
7. Training and Awareness
The Company will provide regular training and awareness programs to educate employees about the risks associated with anti-social forces and how to identify and respond to suspicious activities. Training will be conducted for new hires and periodically for existing employees to reinforce compliance with this policy.
